January Classes



Learn to knit E00520

Saturdays 1/6, 1/13, 1/20; 9-11 am $60

Make this lovely cowl while you learn knitting basics: casting on and knitting, purling and reading a pattern, binding off, finishing, and how to use a circular knitting needle.

Hats that Fit E00521

Saturdays 1/6, 1/13, 1/20; 9-11 am. $60

Choose your hat size and style and learn advanced beginner knitting skills. With this great pattern, you can make hats in many versions. Learn how to read a more complex pattern, determine number of stitches to cast on for a specific yarn weight and head size, to determine gauge, and make adjustments if gauge is not correct. All of these skills are central to beautiful outcomes across projects.

Materials to purchase before class begins
PATTERN: Hats That Fit by Nancy Lindberg
YARN: 50 to 150 grams of yarn depending on head size and hat design (square/round hat or pointed hat)
NEEDLES: 16” circular and double pointed needles in size recommended for the yarn. 16” circular one size smaller for bottom cuff. Double pointed needles in larger size.
TOOLS: Tapestry needle and markers


Yummy Mittens E00522

Wednesdays 1/3, 1/10, 1/17; 6-8 pm. $60

Learn intermediate skills while knitting a double thick pair of mittens including knitting on double points, shaping, provisional cast on, weaving in ends, reading a more complex pattern, pick-up and knit.

YARN: 200-300g of worsted weight or heavy worsted weight yarn.
NEEDLES: US DPNs in sizes 4, 5, and 6.

February Classes



Fresco Sweater Workshop E00529

Thursdays 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 3/29, 4/5, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26; 6-7 pm. $10 per session

Up to 10 students can enroll. The first class is mandatory and is dedicated to discussing the pattern, sweater construction, gauge, and getting started. After the first class, students may come as they want/need assistance with any part of the pattern. Students must purchase the Fresco Sweater pattern and the appropriate yarn and needles. The cost is $10.00 per class attended. This sweater is knit flat in pieces which makes achieving gauge easier and also provides the opportunity to learn some new finishing techniques.

Learn Stranded Knitting E00527

Saturday 3/10; 3-5 pm. $20

Students will learn the basics of stranded knitting while knitting a cowl. Students should come to class with US Size 8 16” circular knitting needles and 2 colors of worsted weight wool (50g each color). Choose yarn color combinations that you love!

Fixing Mistakes E00528

Saturday 3/17; 3-5 pm. $20

Learn to fix the most common mistakes in knitting. Learn to unknitting, pick up dropped stitches and drop stitches to correct pattern.

Homework: Bring to class two swatches left on needles:
Swatch 1: 4x4 (22 stitches) swatch left on needle, using solid colored worsted weight yarn, US 8 needles and stockinette stitch (*knit 1 row, purl 1 row* repeat).
Swatch 2: 4x4 (22 stitches) swatch left on needle, using solid colored worsted weight yarn, US 8, garter stitch (knit every row)
